Happy Birthday Air America!
Air America Radio, the left-wing talk network is celebrating it's 1 year anniversary today. To coincide with the anniversary, HBO will air "Left of the Dial," a documentary that followed the people in front of, and behind the scenes during the start up of the network. Air America had a rocky start, due to financial difficulties early on, but it is now growing at a strong clip, with strong ratings. Jerry Springer joins AA tomorrow, so the future looks like it's going to get even bigger and brighter...

I see your point about Jerry and had the same thoughts. On the other hand, Jerry's TV fans are largely heartland, middle-Americans that liberal/progressives have such a hard time communicating effectively to. His radio show doesn't go where his TV show does thematically; Jerry's actually very good at articulating his serious political views. So while he probably won't attract "values voters," I think there is an unreached demographic that Jerry DOES reach. Randi Rhodes is the real star of AA anyway...
